EMACIATOR "Merit" C20 (Arbor) "Rising beyond the ether, Jonathon Borge’s (of Pedestrian Deposit and the Monorail Trespassing label) guitar based drone project floats freely in it’s own realm. Looking down on stone and earth, a feedback torrent swells. Awe-inspiring chords streak through the grey gloom like stone cutters putting everything in it’s right place; a sanctimonious harmony between the give and take of the bleak and the beautiful. Dense and serene. In an edition of 100 tapes with printed labels and art by Borges." (label description)

FORTIETH DAY "Pelusium: 540 A.D." C62 (Cipher Prod.) "The Fortieth Day have managed to build up a heady wash of particled, crusted tape releases on the Bloodlust! label, the project’s clogged airways and dusted corridors of sound one of the most perfect fits for the cassette format one could hope to imagine. ‘Pelusium: 540 AD’ is The Fortieth Day in supreme form, the guitar/bass duo of Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff (Bloodyminded) churning out an obtrusive cloud of sound but this time with a little more detail glaring through the asthmatic machinations." GOD WILLING "Cleansing Hours" C14+C16 (Arbor) "scum crew member ren schofield plays true to his posses title with this sludge noise opus. pure overdriven electricity oscillates steadfastly while fighting the battle for sonic purity. sk-1 tones chug toward the cliff of oblivion demanding submission from strangled guitar strums trying to reach the surface (a cause inevitably resulting in failure). spattering waves of crossed frequencies construct an unscalable wall of crushing distorted drones; beauty lies beneath if you can dig that deep. good vibrations." MARTYRDOD "In Extremis" CD (Havoc) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! "One of the most extreme and poweful records ever on Havoc. Martyrdöd unleash intense raw Swedish hardcore with some Black Metal influences. Ultra powerful metallic käng that drags you into a world of darkness, anger and despair. This band released a crushing LP on Plague Bearer and a split 7" with Sunday Morning Einsteins. Guitarist Micke also now plays in Skitsystem. This band has a distinct style within the strong tradition of Swedish hardcore. The riffs are raw and powerful, with haunting melody over a storm of raw sonic shrapnel. Two guitars trade off sledgehammer riffs and driving melodic leads. The vocals are searing and raw shouts of rage against the horror of 21st century industrial terror and war. This CD is a titanic blast of raw käng power." (label description)
